RP law grants fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to business engaged in renewable energy projects. The government of the Philippines revs up its campaign for capital flow in green projects in a recent forum targeting European firms.

The forum was spearheaded by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center of the Department of Trade and Industry based in London to drum up the Philippines as premier business destination, especially for renewable and green energy projects.

The forum was sponsored by the Scottish law firm Morton Fraser and business consultants International Market Analysis at the Morton Fraser offices in the brand new Quarter Mile 2 development in Edinburgh, Scotland.

It was attended by 24 representatives of major Scottish companies dealing with renewable energy and banking and finance.

Among them were officials from the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, the Scottish Low Carbon Investment Conference organizers, and the Scottish Development Council.

Pioneering renewable energy R&D groups were also present in addition to various Renewable Energy companies based in Scotland.

Discussions centered on promoting foreign investments and joint business opportunities for Scottish Companies in the Philippines in Renewable Energy and other priority sectors such as IT and Business Support (Outsourcing), Infrastructure development and the BOT Scheme and Mining.

Substantial interests were gathered from Scottish companies in such sectors as wind energy/offshore wind, wave and tidal energy technologies, research on improved and efficient biomass generation and from bacteria and algae, waste-to-energy innovations and solar power.

Other companies expressed interest on animation & graphic design outsourcing, banking and finance services, BPO and other IT-related services. Read more...
